Trauma-informed workshops for schools, workplaces and frontline teams

Stress and trauma shape how people behave, learn and work together. These CPD-accredited workshops from The Mental Wellbeing Company help teams understand what's happening in the nervous system, and what they can do day to day to support the people around them.

I deliver them as a brand partner of The Mental Wellbeing Company, in person or online. Most run for 90 minutes.

Workshops are educational and don’t replace professional clinical advice, therapy or medical care for anyone attending.

What is trauma-informed training?

Trauma-informed training helps people understand how stress and trauma can affect behaviour, learning, relationships and wellbeing, so they can respond in ways that feel safer and more supportive for everyone involved.

The workshops focus on the nervous system: what happens in the body under stress, how that shows up in a classroom, a team or a professional setting, and practical ways to support emotional regulation.

Who are the workshops for?

Schools and education professionals

The Trauma-Informed Classroom

For teachers, school leaders, pastoral teams and SENCOs. Covers the foundations of trauma-informed teaching, trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze and fawn), how behaviour links to nervous system states, how to spot stress and dysregulation in students, regulation for staff, and practical tools for classroom culture and wellbeing.

Businesses and teams

Trauma-Informed Workplaces

For leaders and teams. Covers how common trauma is and how it can affect people at work, the key principles of trauma-informed practice, and practical ways to put them in place. Options focus on leadership, employee wellbeing or building a trauma-informed workplace.

Police, solicitors and frontline teams

The Physiology of Domestic Abuse

For police and frontline responders, solicitors, safeguarding teams, and health and support staff. Explores why survivors may seem calm, compliant, confused or inconsistent, how chronic fear affects memory and speech in disclosures and interviews, why leaving can feel physiologically threatening, and how to respond in ways that reduce threat.

The Mental Wellbeing Company also offers positive psychology workshops for schools and workplaces, covering psychological safety, wellbeing and team culture. See the full list of workshops.
